Cave Pearls
Formed as calcite rich water drips into their tiny nests, cave pearls must be amongst the most beautiful of all speleothems we could ever encounter - and are certainly a personal favourite of the Winster Cavers. These photographs were taken in caves, and mines throughout the UK - don't ask us where though, that's a secret!

Large cave pearls

A colection of unusually large cave pearls. Cave pearls of this size (typically 2cm - 3cm diameter) are usually too heavy to remain free, and get calcited to their surroundings. |
