In 2011 the Winster Cavers spent 14 days volcano trekking in Indonesia, starting at Anak Krakatau off of the West Coast of Java, and traversing the entire island to finish on Bali.
We've split the 50 minute film of the whole adventure into a series of short films, one for each volcano/cave we visited. Enjoy!
The final stage in our 14 day adventure was to visit Kawah Ijen, the now well-known site of sulphur mining, and supposedly the most acidic lake in the world - a claim that we thought we'd best put to the test.
Whilst many tourists now visit during the daytime to witness the miners at work, few venture out at night. In the darkness, the sulphur vents burn a vibrant blue colour.
