In 2011 the Winster Cavers spent 14 days volcano trekking in Indonesia, starting at Anak Krakatau off of the West Coast of Java, and traversing the entire island to finish on Bali.
We've split the 50 minute film of the whole adventure into a series of short films, one for each volcano/cave we visited. Enjoy!
Until November 2007 the lake in the old caldera at Gunung Kelud was a popular tourist destination. On November 5th, boiling water started to run down the hillside, and a new lava dome formed where the lake once sat.
Lava domes are potentially very explosive and hazardous - at the time of visiting, the lava dome seemed quiet, yet it was still growing at a rate of ~3cm/day.
