Weather conditions: Fine.
How to find it:Park in the large layby (room for several cars) in Blackwell Dale, the cave is situated a a short walk along the road and is easy to spot.
Access: The decorated chamber is gated and access is controlled by the Orpheus Caving Club, from whom bona fide cavers can obtain a key.
Kit required: None.
Description: An easy hands and knees crawl through a muddy passage leads to the gate, beyond which is a stunning chamber with many pristine formations including stalactites, stalagmites, straws, helictites and good flowstone. A short but very worthwhile trip, and a definite 'must' for the cave photographer. Blackwell Dale Cave is a real gem amongst Peak District caves and is not to be missed.
